Tyler Lovering (born 13 July 1971) is a Canadian Australian retired ice hockey player and current chairman and a commissioner of the Australian Ice Hockey League. ==Playing career== Lovering first played for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League in the 1987-88 season. He played five games for the Warriors, scoring one goal. In 1989 he joined the University of Massachusetts Lowell's ice hockey team to compete in the NCAA Division I Hockey East association. Lovering played two seasons for the University of Massachusetts Lowell before re-signing with the Moose Jaw Warriors for the start of the 1991-92 season.〔 Lovering has also previously played for the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League and the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Lovering moved to Australia in 1995 and in 2000 joined the Sydney Bears of the newly formed Australian Ice Hockey League.〔 He competed in every season for the Bears until 2008 after which he retired from ice hockey.〔 Lovering was first called up to represent Australia in 1998 where he joined the national senior team to compete in the 1998 IIHF World Championship Pool D tournament.〔 He continued to compete for Australia at the World Championships, earning consecutive callups from 1998 to 2004.〔 In 2006 Lovering returned to the Australian team to compete in the 2006 IIHF World Championship Division II Group B tournament being held in Auckland, New Zealand. Australia finished third while Lovering recorded four assists in his five games. Lovering made his final appearance for Australia in 2008 to compete in the 2008 IIHF World Championship Division II Group B tournament where he went on to score one goal and record six penalties in minutes in his five games.
